Made by prominent Hopi silversmith, Bernard Dawahoya (1935-2011), these sterling silver earrings beautifully represent traditional Hopi overlay design. Considered one of the great Hopi jewelers, Dawahoya was talented in a multitude of mediums including Katsina doll carving, weaving, painting and leatherwork; and he was active and well-respected in his community of Shungopavi on Second Mesa.
