Description
From an old California collection, this beautiful twined winnowing tray is in excellent condition. We can say with authority that this tray was made in Central California and may be Yokuts, Maidu or Mono or an adjacent tribe. All of these tribes made winnowing trays and used redbud, which is the contrasting material in their basketry. Its concave form is a perfect shape for its intended use.
