Master craftsman Frank Patania (1900-1964) has been referred to as “William Spratling of the American Southwest” and this exquisite sterling silver and turquoise box flawlessly establishes that title. With its clean lines, ball feet, warm patina, and large piece of all natural, high-grade Kingman turquoise (set in a twisted rope and scalloped bezel), this box would make an elegant addition to your dresser or side table. The box is in excellent condition, with no scratches, and is stamped with Patania’s shop logo, a thunderbird, and “FP STERLING”. The box was made
c. 1930s-1950s, and measures just over 1.5″ H (without stone), 5.5″ L, and 3 5/8″ W.
