This extraordinary sterling silver pendant was created by celebrated artist, Robert Davidson (Haida/Tlingit). Titled “Killer Whale”, it features inlaid abalone eyes, and is number 8 from a 1992 edition of 12. Davidson is known primarily for his totem poles and mask carvings, but he is also a noted painter, printmaker, and jeweler. He has received many awards for his work, including the Order of Canada award, and his work can be found in the collections of the National Gallery of Canada, the Canadian Museum of Civilization, the Vancouver Art Gallery, and other esteemed venues. The Killer Whale pendant measures approx. 2″ in diameter, and is signed on one edge: “RD 8/12 92”.
