Description
Wearing double bandoleers across his chest and holding a rattle in his right hand and a bow in his left, this Chakwaina (no English translation) katsina doll is made to hang on a wall, just as he would in a Hopi home. This doll has attractive details including the large painted sash, turquoise necklace and concha belt. He is wearing a fox tail covered by a black breech cloth decorated with sunflower motifs. His stance is well-executed as you can see he is dancing as he would during January ceremonies or spring dances.
